We also celebrated the birth of yet another centurion, who had her 100th birthday on Thanksgiving Day (we now have 3!). and a wonderful Thanksgiving with many families and friends in our building !

Gracewood of North Branch-Festival

Our Fall Festival at Gracewood in North Branch had a great turnout.   Residents, families and friends enjoyed a lunch of pulled pork, baked potato soup, caesar salad and a delicious pumpkin crisp dessert.  Toe tapping music was provided by The Reminisce Band.  There were games, door prizes, and lots of candy for the kids.

Halloween Day the local daycare brought 18 little people dressed up in customs to visit with the residents.  There were lots of smiles when the children sang and walked around and greeted all the residents.

White Pine of Blaine-Feed My Starving Children

The employees at White Pine Senior Living volunteered at Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids.

Gracewood of Hugo-Halloween

Halloween was a fun and busy day for the residents of Hugo.  In the morning, a group of preschool children from a local childcare center came trick or treating.  The residents enjoyed seeing the children dressed up in their costumes as the preschoolers were handed their treats. A few of the residents were also dressed in costumes.

During the afternoon, the residents bowled using a pumpkin, listened to silly Halloween riddles and frosted pumpkin cookies for their snack.  Fun was had for all ages.

Gracewood of Hugo-Read Stories

Gracewood of Hugo has been fortunate to have the librarian from the Forest Lake library read stories to the residents once a month.  During her first visit, she read stories from a Minnesota author.  The residents recognized the familiar places in Minnesota.  In October, she read the story of Ichabod Crane.  We all gathered around the fireplace together as she read the spooky legend of sleepy hollow.
